چکیده

Abstract The planar-biaxial thermo-mechanical fatigue behavior of nickel-base superalloy Inconel 718 was studied for selected proportional loading conditions, in particular biaxial strain ratios 1.0, 0.6, and − 1.0. cyclic temperature with minimum maximum temperatures 400 °C 630 a duration 250 seconds either In-Phase or Out-of-Phase to the mechanical axes. Besides multiaxial tests, uniaxial tests were conducted same cycle duration. performed analyzed regarding deformation lifetime compared high-temperature isothermal low-cycle from previous work authors. On side description, strain- stress-based approach presented. For crack initiation mechanism paths shown.

Review on Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue Behavior of Nickel-Base Superalloys

Nickel-base superalloys have become the key materials of hot-end components in the aeroengines over the past several decades. Nickelbase superalloys are easy to produce thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF) behavior when withstanding the combined effects of high temperature, creep, oxidation, mechanical stress and thermal stress. The occurrence of TMF seriously affects the normal service for hot-end ...

Hold-time effect on the thermo-mechanical fatigue crack growth behaviour of Inconel 718

In-phase TMF crack growth testing with different lengths of the hold time at the maximum temperature of 550C has been conducted on Inconel 718 specimens. Focus has been on establishing a method for TMF crack growth testing and investigating the effect of high temperature hold times on the TMF crack growth of the material. The tests are compared to isothermal crack propagation tests and show go...

Investigation of Cutting Forces Superalloy Inconel 718

Since the cutting tools used in machining process of super alloys are subjected to high cutting forces, accordingly tools life is reduced, therefore improvement in alloys machining and reducing cutting forces to achieve longer tools life is an essential necessity. In this research, the effect of changes in feed rate on cutting forces in machining process of nickel based super alloys is investig...

Linkage between Ductile Fracture and Extremely Low Cycle Fatigue of Inconel 718 under Multiaxial Loading Conditions

Ductile fracture and extremely low cycle fatigue (ELCF) [1] are two common failure modes in aircraft engines and turbomachinery designs [2]; however, the linkage between these two failure modes under multi-axial loading conditions has never been systematically studied. Inconel 718 (IN718) is one type of high temperature alloys widely used in turbomachines. Specially designed specimens and tests...

Fatigue Behavior and Life Prediction Model of a Nickel-Base Superalloy under Different Strain Conditions

The fatigue behavior of a nickel-base superalloy was investigated under total strain-controlled mode at high temperature. The fatigue life, cyclic stress response behavior and hysteresis loop of the superalloy were investigated under isothermal low cycle fatigue (LCF) conditions. The superalloy exhibited cyclic hardening and softening behaviors during the process of fatigue loading. The hystere...
